Patna (पटना) is the capital and largest city of the state of Bihar in India. Patna is the second largest city in eastern India after Kolkata. One of the oldest continuously inhabited places in the world. Patna was founded in 490 BCE by the king of Magadha. Ancient Patna, known as Pataliputra, was the capital of Magadha under  the Haryanka, Nanda, Mauryan, Gupta, and Pala empires. 

  • Mahavir Mandir, Patna

Mahavir Mandir is one of the holiest Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Hanuman, located inPatna, Bihar, India. Million of pilgrims visit the temple every year and is the second most visited religious shrine in North India. This temple is situated at the entrance of Patna Junction Railway Station.

  • Takhat Sri Harimandir Ji Saheb, Patna Sahib

Takhat Sri Harimandir Ji, Patna Sahib is a Gurdwara (Sikh place of worship) in the neighborhood of Patna Sahib, India. It was built in remembrance of the birthplace of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth Guru of the Sikhs on 22 December 1666. It is one of the Gurudwara where every Sikh visit atleast once.

  • River Ganga

Patna is a historical city situated beside the holy bank of river Ganges. A number of ghats have developed over the course of time.

  1. Gandhi ghat : This ghat is situated behind the NIT campus off the Ashok Rajpath. The Ghat has been renovated recently and it has quotation inscribed which reminds of the Mahatma Gandhi. During weekend evening , Ganga Aarti takes place, which is attended by lots of people.
  2. Collectariat Ghat : This is one of the famous ghat of Patna. Situated towards the Northern part of Gandhi Maidan, this ghat is frequented by many people. The Ghat becomes decorative during Chhath festival when hundreds of people come here for worship.
  3. Krishna Ghat : This Ghat is situated in between Patna College and Science College. Staircase going down in the river has been constructed for the people to bath in the river. This ghat offers a very good view of the river Ganga and the other side of the river. 
  4. Guru Govind Singh Ghat : This ghat is situated in the Patna City area, roughly 200 yards from Har Mandir Takht. It is popularly known as Kangan Ghat, where child Guru Govind Singh had thrown his gold bangles.


  • Khuda Baksh National Library


Khuda Baksh National Library attracts Urdu scholars from all over the world. With an amazing collection of over 21000 manuscripts and 2.5 lakhs of printed books, the library is deals with various depths of Urdu literature. Mohammad Baksh, a private collector was the man behind the library and his son Khuda Baksh took upon himself to ensure the library reaches new heights with its possessions. Khuda Baksh acquired some of the rare manuscripts in the Arabian countries. The two-storied building was opened by him in the year 1889 and the library is rightly named after him for his mammoth contribution. The priceless possessions in the library earned it the status of National Library in the year 1969. Some of the rare collections include Mughal period books with stunning paintings, which reflect the culture and lifestyle of the bygone era. 

  • Buddha Smriti Park

  • Sri Krishna Science Centre

Founded in the year 1978, Sri Krishna Science Centre uses practical approach to give an interesting insight into the principles of science. You will be thrilled the moment you enter, as you will hear the echoes of the sounds of dinosaurs. A sundial is located at the entrance of the 2 floored building. Each floor is dedicated to a theme associated with science.
